Nicola's presentation is about the creation of edible Forest Heights, underutilized green spaces and the beauty of gardens we can eat.

Nicola Thomas is an enthusiastic, self-taught and well researched gardener. Her gardening style incorporates many philosophies; edible gardening, herbal remedies, permaculture, the 3Rs of recycling and providing habitats and food for both people and animals. Her garden will be one of the gardens for the July 10, 2018 garden tour.

Nicola is a homeschool mother of 3 living in Forest Heights; an active community member and avid environmentalist. Nicola saw the capacity in our public spaces and initiated the 1st Food Forest in Kitchener at the Forest Heights Community Centre to encourage communities to steward the soil and grow edibles, as well as pollinator corridors in underutilized green spaces.
