On Saturday, May 4th at 10:00 am and Sunday May 5th at 2:00 pm, The Kitchener Horticultural Society will host 2 guided Jane’s Walks at Rockway Gardens. Plan to spend up to 1 hour and 30 minutes to tour the gardens and learn about the history and significance of our beautiful gardens. Meet at the Garden House, 7 Floral Cr.

Jane’s Walks are citizen-led walking tours that make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and collectively reimagine the places in which they live, work and play. They are inspired by the work of Jane Jacobs, an American-born writer and activist who challenged ideas of city planning and offered new ideas on cities made for, and by, ordinary people. She published several books on cities, economics, ethics, governance, and culture, before her passing in 2006. She sparked a global movement that plays out in our local communities.
