Since 1933, the Kitchener Horticultural Society (GardenKitchener) has created, cared for, and continually shaped Rockway Botanical Garden through the dedication of its staff and volunteers.

Join us for a guided walk through this historic garden. We’ll explore original landmarks that have been part of Rockway since its earliest days, along with the beautiful plantings and features added by GardenKitchener volunteers over the decades.

This year we will host two walks, both on Sunday May 3. The first will start promptly at 11am and the second at 2pm. For both, we will meet at the Garden House at 7 Floral Crescent.

Jane’s Walks are citizen-led walking tours that make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and collectively reimagine the places in which they live, work and play. They are inspired by the work of Jane Jacobs, a writer and activist who challenged ideas of city planning and offered new ideas on cities made for, and by, ordinary people. She published several books on cities, economics, ethics, governance, and culture, before her passing in 2006. She sparked a global movement that plays out in our local communities.
